New: Canvas
- Undo and redo: Ctrl/Cmd+Z, Ctrl+Y or Ctrl+Shift+Z, or the buttons in the canvas controls.
- Copy, paste and duplicate cards. Edges between the copied cards come along.
- Text cards render Markdown, and
[[links]]inside them open the note. - File cards show their content: images are drawn, audio and video play in place. A note card narrowed to a heading shows only that section.
- Canvases are vault files: Create new canvas from the ribbon or the command palette
puts the canvas in the folder of the active file.
![[Board.canvas]]in a note shows the board's shapes, and a click on the embed opens the canvas.
Fixed
- Unsaved text: closing a tab or quitting right after typing no longer loses text. Before the window closes, the app waits (up to 5 s) for every pending note write.
- Tabs: Close all in a split pane removes the pane (#8), and dragging a tab to the bottom edge of a pane splits it downwards (#17).
- Graph: a linked local graph lets go when the note it follows is closed (#13). Two-finger pinch zooms and two-finger drag pans (#15).
- Details: buttons in Settings show the pointer cursor (#9), dragging bookmarks no longer selects text (#11), the app is called Opensidian in the window title and the menu entry (#12), and the close button of the start dialog matches the other dialogs (#14).
Security
- The Flatpak and the portable AppImage bundle brotli 1.2.1 (CVE-2026-111497); the GNOME 49 runtime still ships 1.2.0.
- glib 0.18.5 carries the upstream fix for GHSA-wrw7-89jp-8q8g (
VariantStrIter).
Known issue
- Switching back to a note in reading view after a tab detour can, rarely, land a dozen lines away from where you were. 0.8.0 does the same; a fix is planned.
