Opensidian vs Logseq

Logseq describes itself as a privacy-first, open-source platform for knowledge management and collaboration. Opensidian is an open-source markdown notes app: notes are files in a folder on your disk, linked with [[wikilinks]], backlinks, tags and a graph view.

Differences

When Logseq is the better choice

If you use Org-mode files, annotate PDFs or want your tasks inside your notes app, Logseq has those features. If you need a mobile app, Logseq has one and Opensidian does not.

When Opensidian fits

If you want to use an Obsidian-style vault, with Obsidian community themes and plugins, in an open-source app, Opensidian fits.

Moving from Logseq to Opensidian

Opensidian has no Logseq importer. The Markdown files of a file-based Logseq graph are plain .md files, so you can open a copy of that folder in Opensidian. Logseq-specific syntax is not converted, and Org-mode files are not markdown. A graph in the Logseq DB version lives in a database, not in markdown files, so Opensidian cannot open it directly.
